Rapid City Arts Council & the Department of Social Services              April 2018

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. During the month of April there will be an art exhibit at the Dahl Art Center. The artists are very special youth who are currently in foster care. Please join Rapid City Arts Council along with Department of Social Services to find out how you can play a part to help strengthen the community and prevent child abuse. Meals on Wheels                                                                                        April-May 2018

If you have 60 minutes, once a week (from 11:00-12:00), to deliver hot nutritious meals while providing a warm smile and a friendly contact to homebound seniors in our community, please call Meals on Wheels Rapid City at 605-394-6002. They are urgently looking for volunteer’s weekdays that can deliver meals to seniors that might otherwise go hungry in Rapid City. Several options available for delivering, once a month once a week or twice a week.

The Rapid City Area School District is offering free developmental screenings at Jefferson School for children ages 3-5 years old. The screening check a child’s development in the areas of language and articulation, concept development, hearing, vision and motor skills. Information is shared with the parents and the parents are provided with ideas to help enhance their child’s development. Children will be screened on Friday, April 20th.
