West River Operation Christmas Child    Nov
If your church, organization or family would like empty shoeboxes to fill for the 2017 Operation Christmas Child Shoebox season, boxes can be picked up at Dove Christian Center (1213 Harmony Heights Lane, Rapid City SD 57701) during our regular business hours, Monday-Thursday 8:00 am - 3:00 pm. If you would like to schedule another more convenient pick up time, contact Nancy at 605-391-7394. They are available in cases of 100, or individually. The Corner Stone Rescue Mission     Nov
Corner Stone Rescue Mission needs a flock of turkeys – the frozen kind. It takes about 30 turkeys to feed the approximate 300+ guests that we have at 30 Main Street in Rapid City for the Thanksgiving meal. Turkeys can be dropped off at 30 Main Street at any time before Thanksgiving. Thanks for helping feed the hungry this holiday season. FMI: 605.341.2741

Hope Center         Nov-Dec
All it takes is one crisis, one illness, one trauma, and one turn in the economy and what someone considered a normal life is now a daily struggle to stay warm, to find food, to survive. Many in this community find themselves in situations like these every day. Cornerstone Thrift Store       Nov-Dec
Being homeless is always difficult but being homeless during winter is especially difficult. Cornerstone Thrift Store, 401 11th Street, Rapid City, is once again gathering coats, hats, gloves. Long underwear, snow pants, overalls, and snow boots for women, children, and men (especially XL, 2XL, 3XL). Box Elder/ Douglas School District Community Library  Nov-May 2018
Now through May 24th 2018 enjoy book reading and activities at the Douglas High School Library (420 Patriot Dr., Box Elder, SD). Hours are: Monday through Wednesday 3:30-5:30pm and Thursday 3:30-7:30pm. Days school is not in session this event will be closed. FMI: 605.923.0030

Spearfish Farmer’s Market      Nov-May 2018

Center for Financial Resources      11/15
The Center for Financial Resources will offer their monthly Student Loan Boot Camp class on Wednesday, Nov. 15th, 12-1pm, at their office located at 705 E 41st Street in Sioux Falls. This class will look at the different types of student loans, repayment programs, and consolidation options and what to do if borrowers fall behind on payments. Discover 3D printing at the downtown Rapid City Public Library (610 Quincy Street) now until Nov. 15th during regular library hours. Learn how to design and print your own customized sports-themed keychain. Limit 1 free print per person. Mommy’s Closet and Volunteers of America    11/16
Mommy’s Closet and Volunteers of America are hosting ‘Soup for a Cause’ on Nov. 16th at the Central States Fairground from 5:30-7:30pm. This is a fundraiser to benefit Services in the Rapid City Community and some of the services include feeding, sheltering and supporting ones in need. From 8-2pm Zion Lutheran Church is having their 13th Annual Craft Fair which will have over 40 local vendors with a variety of handmade crafts and home business. Church Response Community Pantry     11/19
The annual Church Response Community Pantry Holiday Salute features a concert and silent auction on Nov. 19th from 1-4 pm at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 717 Quincy Street, Rapid City. Rapid City Area Schools       11/20
The Rapid City Area School District will offer free developmental screening at Jefferson School for children ages 3-5 years old. These developmental screenings check a child’s development, hearing, vision and motor skills. Info about the child’s development is shared with the parents along with ideas to help enhance their children’s development. This will take place on Nov. 20th. Hills of Grace Fellowship       11/21
Hills of Grace Fellowship is having PIE BINGO NIGHT on Nov. 21st starting at 6:30pm come play bingo and take home your favorite flavor of pie; just in time for thanksgiving! It's time again for the Annual Sturgis Alliance of Churches Thanksgiving Day Dinner.
