Jewel Cave National Monument is proud to offer multiple opportunities for volunteers this month. On Saturday, September 24th from 1 - 4 pm., join park staff at the visitor center to learn about volunteer projects that day. Volunteers that contribute at least one hour of service will earn a free onetime entrance pass valid at all federal public lands. Additionally, this date is a fee free day for the National Park Service; and Jewel Cave is waiving all fees for the regularly scheduled cave tours. TIDLOS, a group of Christian musicians from Norway will present a concert at the Chapel In The Hills in Rapid City on Tuesday, October 4th at 6:30 pm. Rapid Valley United Methodist Church

Rapid Valley United Methodist Church is having their annual pumpkin patch starting Oct. 8th. Hours will be Monday-Friday 11am to 5:30pm. On Saturdays from 9am-5pm. Sundays from 12pm to 4pm. On October 8th from 11 am-2pm they will have a petting farm with several different animals and we will have some birds as well. There will be some of our first time responders there as well. Hayrides will be available. There is no cost to visit their patch. On October 15th, there will be a kid’s carnival from 11am-2pm. There will be games, face painting, and a bouncing castle. Tickets will be 4 for $1. Free hayrides will be available. Their youth group will be selling hot dogs, sodas, and popcorn. On October 23rd, they will have a hoe down party from 1:30-3pm.
